Peter Caligiuri
Life has a funny way of giving us some unexpected detours and my wife Nancy and I have had more than a few. Originally starting training as a pastor, and then getting my degree in teaching, I planned on at least one of those roads, but God led us by another way. Ultimately I served for 14-15 years as a lay pastor in a small church and ran a small business, because as I would sometimes tell people, “Lay” is a Greek word for, “doesn’t get paid!”. But of all the roads I’ve gone down, none has been more dear, than the thirty-five years I have volunteered in the nursing home ministry. Now in retirement, Nancy and I are getting ready to celebrate 50 wonderful and crazy years together. We have two sons, six lively grandsons, and one wonderful granddaughter! I love to write about nursing home ministry, as well as practical devotionals, poetry, and even a few songs. |
